August 24, 1963 - April 8, 2025
Suddenly at home on April 8, 2025, Joe Wintar of Little Pond, PEI, formerly of Waterdown, Ontario, in his 62nd year. Beloved son of the late Joseph and Barbara-Jane Wintar. Beloved brother of Anne Marie Cresswell and Angela Wintar. Much loved brother-in-law of the late Brian Cresswell. Beloved nephew of Margaret and Gerry Gubbels. Dear long-time friend of the MacKenzie family. Joe was a graduate of the McMaster Civil Engineering program, where he obtained his P.Eng. He went on to become the Manager of Plans Examination in the Building Department for the City of Burlington, Ontario and then moved onto the Burlington Fire Department as the Chief Fire Prevention Officer. He will be missed by the many friends he made at school and work. Joe had a lifelong interest in astronomy and could point out every constellation when starwatching in PEI. He loved sports, particularly football and hockey. He played baseball and was a goaltender for many years while living in Waterdown. Joe enjoyed watching the NFL, golf and his beloved Buffalo Sabres and Bills. He loved camping close to his father’s hometown of Kirkland Lake. Joe also loved working outside (especially cutting wood) and fixing things. He very much enjoyed his membership at Dundarave Golf Course, his favourite place on earth. He loved tending to his well thought out garden and supplied many of his neighbours and friends with his bountiful harvest. Joe was a friend to many and will be missed by his family and friends in Ontario, PEI, British Columbia and Australia. If so desired, donations to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlottetown, PEI, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Wanda Marie MacIsaac
September 10, 1975 - March 22, 2025
At the Kings County Memorial Hospital in Montague, on Saturday, March 22, 2025, our world became a little dimmer, but the stars are shining brighter with the passing of sweet Wanda MacIsaac, who slipped away peacefully with her special caregiver Tracy at her side. She was aged 49 years. Wanda made friends everywhere she went — partly because she was a natural flirt and had a way of making everyone feel special, flashing that signature smile and calling you a sexy devil. She spent the past fifteen years living her best life at the Montague Group Home and working at Inclusions East, where she proudly earned a paycheque right up until her well-earned retirement. She loved spending her money on Tim Hortons runs, shopping trips, and whatever “good times” she happened to be in the mood for. Nobody loved life more than Wanda. Whether she was bowling, dancing, or just heading out for a Sunday drive, she brought sunshine wherever she went. And when she was ready to head home or for a visit to end, she’d let you know with a gentle, “What are you going to do now?” Wanda is survived by her siblings: Louise (Johnny) Deagle, Jamie (Nova), Margaret (Carl) Jamieson, Hilrey (Jacinta), Shirley (Garry) Gregory, Orilda MacCormack, Ronelda MacIsaac, Rose (Brian) Oickle, and Lornie. She also leaves behind dozens of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, coworkers, and friends who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her grandparents Lem and Libby MacDonald and James and Dorothy MacIsaac; parents, Mildred “Milla” and Orrin MacIsaac; siblings Mary MacIsaac, Orrin Gregory MacIsaac, and Frances MacDonald; nephews John Robertson and David Gregory; grandniece Kirsten Tonks (Robertson); grandnephew Edward MacCormack; and nephew-in-law Adam Clements. In Wanda’s memory, the family invites you to pay a compliment to the next “sexy devil” you see, smile at a stranger, or treat yourself to something that brings you joy. Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home where visiting hours will take place on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 4-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 11:00am with interment to follow in the church cemetery. If so desired, donations can be made to Inclusions East or the St. Margaret’s Cemetery Fund. Bernard Edward Campbell
June 30, 1959 - February 25, 2025
Riding free on his final journey, Bernard “Edward” Campbell passed away peacefully after a sudden and brief illness, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Fairfield, PEI, on June 30, 1959, to the late Louis J. and Flora Campbell (née Jarvis), he was 65 years old. He leaves behind the love of his life and faithful sidekick, Juanita Tassell, along with her daughter Jessica, whom he deeply loved. Ed is survived by his siblings: Daniel (Donna), Peter (Kathi), Marie Mossey, Loretta Campbell (Steve), Maureen Hanley (Alex), Donna Campbell-Dixon (Bob, deceased), Donald (Sherri), John (Gail), and Melvin (Judy), as well as his brother-in-law Paul Glidden and his dear friend Gerard Campbell. He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. He was predeceased by his brother Buddy, his sister Mel Glidden, infant brother Richard, nephew Christopher Mossey, niece Angela Campbell and brothers-in-law Bob Dixon and Brian Mossey. Ed moved gently through the world, never making much of a fuss. He loved his big family and was always proud to introduce someone to his siblings, nieces, nephews, or cousins. He took the role of "Uncle Ed" seriously. When Juanita and Jessica came into his life, he couldn’t wait to make them part of it all. So while he moved gently, he cut a big swath. He found freedom on his Harley-Davidson and, through his bike, discovered a rich community of friends. Ed never lost touch with anyone he called a friend. He was fiercely loyal and always up for a game of crib, a ride, a trip to the west coast to fish salmon or just hanging out at the RV. Ed’s family will host an informal gathering at The Souris Legion on Sunday, March 9, from 2-4 PM. Please join us and bring your stories and love. By personal request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private celebration of life will take place at a later date. Donations in Ed’s memory can be made to the NB Ride Against Cancer through the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation. This organization has had a large impact on the Campbell family and the Moncton Hospital serves the needs of many Islanders.
